This Week in NJ

If you are hosting an event or know of an event happening that you do not see on our events page, please send an email to cherise@veganinnj.com and I'll add it to the page ASAP and include it in my weekly breakdown.

This entire week is Vegan Restaurant Week in Philly! Many restaurants across the city will have a pre fixe vegan menus. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Peace Advocacy Network, "a Philadelphia-based organization that supports people in their journey toward a peaceful, vegan lifestyle." (from the PVRW website) In addition, there is a launch party (and bake sale) on Monday at Tattooed Mom and Miss Rachel's Pantry is hosting a BBQ Night on Tuesday.

Wednesday, Seed to Sprout is hosting an "Endless Summer" cooking class in Avon. If you can't make this one, next Wednesday (the 26th), there will be another in Fair Haven. You must register to attend!

Thursday morning, Newark Animal Save is hosting another vigil/outreach at American Halal slaughterhouse. In addition to bearing witness, they will continue their outreach in the community surrounding American Halal in Newark.

Farm Critter Haven is hosting a gentle yoga flow on Saturday at their sanctuary location in Egg Harbor Township. If you cannot attend, please consider making a donation via their Facebook page. If you can attend, they recommend bringing a vegan lunch for after, where they will have a picnic on the grounds!

The BEAR Group, a NJ organization with a mission to protect the bears and educate residents, is hosting a protest for the bear hunt in Princeton on Saturday. As of right now, Governor Murphy has prevented hunters from going on state lands to hunt bears, but that does not prevent hunting on private, county, and federal land, which is where the majority of it all happens. Learn more by liking The BEAR Group's Facebook page.
