This Week in NJ

Vegan in NJ has started a Patreon page and we would love it if you could donate any amount you could. We will be working on setting up tiers as time goes on, but for right now, you will just get access to our feed, where we will be working through ideas and events we plan to host in the future. This will be a great place for you to have your voice heard about how we can make NJ the most vegan friendly place it can be!

If you are hosting an event or know of an event happening that you do not see on our events page, please send an email to cherise@veganinnj.com and I'll add it to the page ASAP and include it in my weekly breakdown.

I don't know if you noticed, but we added a few new things to the website! First off, there's a holiday recipes section and we would love it if you submitted some of your favorites so we can spread the word. They can be your own recipe, off your own blog, someone else's blog, something you found on Pinterest, or a recipe you veganized that was handed down from your great grandma. Whatever you can send, send it away! We have also revamped our restaurants listing into a vegan friendly restaurants map. All vendors/food trucks have been added to their own page, since they are without a physical location for the map. Now onto the events!

On Thursday, there will be a tour of Hoboken vegan friendly restaurants that starts at Simply Juiced and then stopping at 4 other locations, all in the downtown area, close to the PATH stations for an easy commute!

Protest Canada Goose NJ is hosting a protest outside of Canada Goose/PRADA in the mall at Short Hills in conjunction with the Day of Action Against PRADA happening in NYC (as well as many others around the world). Here is an article that goes into some detail (with slightly graphic photos/videos) of how Canada Goose jackets are made. Many high end companies like Gucci, Versace, and Michael Kors are going fur free and the day of action against PRADA is to encourage them to follow in those footsteps and lose the cruelty!

Also happening in NYC is a March of Silence at Union Square Park. Here is a video from their September March of Silence to get an idea of what it is they do at this silent protest.

Every Sunday, the Jersey Shore chapter of Food Not Bombs will be feeding those in need at the Asbury Park Train Station between 4:00 and 5:00. If you want to donate something, contact them via their Facebook page or by emailing them at jerseyshorefoodnotbombs@yahoo.com.

It's over a week out, but note we have a meetup at the Montclair Veggie Heaven on Christmas Day. Please RSVP on Facebook (or if you aren't on Facebook, you can send me an email to RSVP/for more information.

Vegan in NJ events scheduled (must be a member of the Facebook group to view private events):

Thank you to those who came here via the Try Vegan email blast! If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you can learn more about the Try Vegan empire via their meal delivery (use that link for a free meal!), their food truck, or their clothing line!
