This Week in NJ

Vegan in NJ has started a Patreon page and we would love it if you could donate any amount you could. We will be working on setting up tiers as time goes on, but for right now, you will just get access to our feed, where we will be working through ideas and events we plan to host in the future. This will be a great place for you to have your voice heard about how we can make NJ the most vegan friendly place it can be!

If you are hosting an event or know of an event happening that you do not see on our events page, please send an email to cherise@veganinnj.com and I'll add it to the page ASAP and include it in my weekly breakdown.

Vegan in NJ is raising money through Crowdrise for Skylands Animal Sanctuary. You are also able to donate in person at the February 17 NJ VegFest vegan pop up in Asbury Park. We will have a table, where we will be signing people up for the 5k at the Atlantic City Vegan Food Festival in July (the reason for the fundraiser!) and hoping people join the Vegan in NJ team!

It's a quiet week for vegan events! We're all recovering from the holidays and trying to get our shit together, so it's understandable! Meanwhile, more and more events are being added to next month (including two events of our own!), so make sure to skip ahead and check out the events calendar. I update the calendar as soon as I find out about events, so it's always as up to date as possible.

The New York City chapter of Anonymous for the Voiceless is hosting a Cube of Truth in Union Square Park on Friday. Dress in all black, bring a fully charged laptop or tablet filled with the required footage (can be found in the description of both the event and in any AV Facebook group).

On Saturday, Loving Hut in Ledgewood is hosting an all vegan Italian buffet. If you call ahead to pre-pay before the 10th, it's $19.95, otherwise it's $21.95. Several Vegan in NJ members are getting together for a meetup, so if you're in our group, make sure to tag along!

Mundo Vegan in Montclair will be doing a vegan soup making class at their location in the afternoon on Sunday. The cost is $40 and you will learn how to make three of their soups, including one to take home!

Every Sunday, the Jersey Shore chapter of Food Not Bombs will be feeding those in need at the Asbury Park Train Station between 4:00 and 5:00. If you want to donate something, contact them via their Facebook page or by emailing them at jerseyshorefoodnotbombs@yahoo.com.

Conscious Cooks is a vegetarian (mostly vegan) catering company out of Atlantic City. They are hosting a cooking class, in which they will be showing you how to make plant based healthy winter comfort foods in an interactive demonstration style. Tickets are $40 and available on Eventbrite.

Vegan in NJ events scheduled (must be a member of the Facebook group to view private events):

Thank you to those who came here via the Try Vegan email blast! If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you can learn more about the Try Vegan empire via their meal delivery (use that link for a free meal!), their food truck, or their clothing line!
