This Week in NJ

Our Spring Vegan Market has arrived! Vegan in NJ proudly presents A Vegan Weekend with Avenue! This three day event starts Friday, March 22nd, featuring a Vegan Prix Fixe Dinner at Avenue in Long Branch. We then keep it going with a Vegan Prix Fixe Brunch on Saturday, March 23rd and Sunday, March 24th and a Free Vendor Market on Sunday, March 24th from 12-5. We are very excited to meet you all!

An All-You-Can-Eat Meetup will be taking place at Asian Landing in Landing. Before tax and tip, the feast is $15 per person which can round up nicely to $20. Please bring exact cash for easy payment together. Please do RSVP via the Facebook link by the Thursday preceding but preferably the sooner the better. The restaurant would like to know how many guests will be attending so they can be prepared. The restaurant is not a vegan facility but they are quite vegan accommodating.

NJVeg will be present at the Wellness Expo this Saturday, the 23rd at Georgian Court University. They will answer questions and provide free literature on the benefits of a plant-based diet. They also are welcoming volunteers for this event; particularly needing help setting up (at 10:00 am) and packing up (to roughly 4:30 pm). There is no experience necessary. Come out for an hour or the entire event. Help spread the word that a plant-based diet saves animals, protects the environment, and improves your health! If you are interested in joining NJVeg's outreach team, please contact NJVeg.org@gmail.com or 609.557.7077.

Anonymous for the Voiceless will be hosting another Cube of Truth on Saturday as well. This time, they will be assembling in Jersey City. The Cube of Truth is a peaceful static demonstration akin to an art performance. This demonstration operates in a structured manner that triggers curiosity and interest from the public; we attempt to lead bystanders to a vegan conclusion through a combination of local standard-practice animal exploitation footage and conversations with a value-based sales approach. Black upper clothing appropriate for the weather is essential, and please bring a fully charged laptop or tablet if you have one. Links for downloading materials can be found on the Facebook Event page.

The Vegan Chub will be hosting Sunday brunch at Kitchen 19 in Hammonton. Featuring a delicious all vegan brunch buffet, and including coffee, tea & juice. Family style seating with two times to choose from: 11 am or 1 pm. Tickets are available here.

The monthly Vegan Market will be taking place Sunday at Market Hotel in Brooklyn from noon to 5:00pm. Admission is free and drinks are available for shoppers 21+. Get together with friends for good times on a Sunday afternoon. Enjoy great vegan food and other vegan products from some of the best vendors in the area.

Finally, the Jersey Shore chapter of Food Not Bombs will be feeding those in need at the Asbury Park Train Station between 3:00 and 4:00. If you want to donate something, contact them via their Facebook page or by emailing them at jerseyshorefoodnotbombs@yahoo.com. The Jersey City chapter meets at the Journal Square plaza at noon every Sunday. For donations, contact them via th
