Newark Animal Save will be holding a vigil this coming Thursday morning at American Halal Meat in Newark. Please come out to give love and support to the animals in their final hours. Whether you are giving love to animals arriving, bearing witness to slaughterhouse conditions, or outreaching to the public, the plan is to be there for the animals in their time of need.
The 2nd Annual March of Silence organized by V For Veganism will take place in New York City on Thursday. What started in Los Angeles is now becoming a global movement. Often times silence speaks volumes and can be a powerful tool for changing hearts and minds. This is also the perfect event for vegans new to or wary of street activism. The route will start with a demo and passing out of flyers in Union Square Park at the stairs across from Whole Foods (14th St. side), and then the march will proceed up to Herald Square (34th St & Broadway) for another demo there - most likely in front of Macy’s. Feel free to bring any literature or leaflets to donate to the cause.
Anonymous for the Voiceless's Cube of Truth is a peaceful static demonstration akin to an art performance. A demonstration will be taking place on Friday in New Brunswick. These demonstrations operate in a structured manner that triggers curiosity and interest from the public; we attempt to lead bystanders to a vegan conclusion through a combination of local standard-practice animal exploitation footage and conversations with a value-based sales approach. Masks, signs, and outreach literature are provided. Black upper clothing appropriate for the weather is essential, and please bring a fully charged laptop or tablet if you have one. Interested volunteers should join this Facebook group.
NJVeg will be attending the Bound Brook Street Fair for vegan outreach on Saturday. Volunteers will answer questions and provide free literature on the benefits of a plant-based diet. They are in need volunteers for this and other outreach. Come out for an hour, or the entire event. Help spread the word that a plant-based diet saves animals, protects the environment, and improves your health! No experience is necessary. They particularly need help setting up (at 10am) and packing up (to about 5:30pm). If you're interested in joining NJveg's outreach team, please contact NJveg.email@example.com or 609.557.7077.
