**We will be hosting a meetup this Saturday at The Roman Gourmet in Maplewood from 2p-4p. Please be sure to RSVP on the event page if you wish to attend so that we have a proper headcount.**
In honor of civil rights activist, Martin Luther King Jr., Brooklyn-Queens Animal Save will be bearing witness, educating, and speaking up for all species at two slaughterhouses that are within walking distance of each other in Jamaica, Queens. Exact location, time, and more details can be found on their event page.
Please join Caring Activists Against Fur (CAAF) for their first fur protest of 2020. This protest will take place at Saks Fifth Ave between 49th and 50th Streets. This location is right by The American Girl doll store and has the potential to educate shoppers about the truth of the fur industry. CAAF will also hold a protest on Saturday at Paramus Park Mall.
Join Denise Morgan, NETA, CGEI, CPT, CYT for a discussion on cruelty-free eating, healthy menu-planning tips, and simple recipes to get you started. Feel free to bring a favorite recipe and she will veganize it for you! This takes place at the East Brunswick Public Library on Tuesday. There is limited seating and registration is required.
Soy Cafe and UnSoul Food will be featured this Thursday at Philly's Weekly Vegan Market. USF willl also be donating 10% of their proceeds to Peace Advocacy Network.
Anonymous for the Voiceless's Cube of Truth is a peaceful static demonstration akin to an art performance. This demonstration operates in a structured manner that triggers curiosity and interest from the public; AV attempts to lead bystanders to a vegan conclusion through a combination of local standard-practice animal exploitation footage and conversations with a value-based sales approach. A cube will take place this coming Sunday in Haddonfield. Masks, signs, and outreach literature are provided. Black upper clothing appropriate for the weather is essential, and please bring a fully charged laptop or tablet if you have one. Interested volunteers should join this Facebook group.
Please join local activists on Sunday in Philly to protest Petco for selling betta fishes. At Petco stores around the country, bettas are confined to tiny plastic cups with scarcely a few inches of water inside. These small containers bear no resemblance to bettas' natural habitats, but Petco perpetuates the harmful myths that they are simply pretty “starter pets” who are required to live alone in tiny bowls. More information on the protest can be found here.
The SeaQuest Woodbridge protests will continue this Sunday. Signups and more info can be found on the event page.
Finally, the Jersey Shore chapter of Food Not Bombs will be feeding those in need at the Asbury Park Train Station between 3:00 and 4:00. If you want to donate something, contact them via their Facebook page or by emailing them at jerseyshorefoodnotbombs@yahoo.com. The Jersey City chapter meets at the Journal Square plaza at noon every Sunday. For donations, contact them via their Facebook page or at foodnotbombsjc@gmail.com.

We have a Patreon page and would love it if you could donate any amount you could. You will get access to our feed, where we will be working through ideas and events we plan to host in the future, early blog posts, discount codes for events, and random merch an whatever we've got that we can send you! This will be a great place for you to have your voice heard about how we can make NJ the most vegan friendly place it can be. Proceeds from our Patreon will be going to maintain the website, brand, and afford us to be able to hire on more awesome vegans to help us on our journey to make NJ a vegan wonderland! We also take some of the donations and donate it back to various vegan non-profits and NJ sanctuaries.
We have also added a 'support us' page, so if you want other ways (besides Patreon) to help us out, please check there. We appreciate anything you can do!
