This Week in NJ

Vegan in NJ has started a Patreon page and we would love it if you could donate any amount you could. We will be working on setting up tiers as time goes on, but for right now, you will just get access to our feed, where we will be working through ideas and events we plan to host in the future. This will be a great place for you to have your voice heard about how we can make NJ the most vegan friendly place it can be!

If you are hosting an event or know of an event happening that you do not see on our events page, please send an email to cherise@veganinnj.com and I'll add it to the page ASAP and include it in my weekly breakdown.

Vegan in NJ is raising money through Crowdrise for Skylands Animal Sanctuary. You are also able to donate in person at the February 17 NJ VegFest vegan pop up in Asbury Park. We will have a table, where we will be signing people up for the 5k at the Atlantic City Vegan Food Festival in July (the reason for the fundraiser!) and hoping people join the Vegan in NJ team!

Dean's Natural Food Market in Ocean Twp is hosting a free vegan cooking class on Wednesday to showcase game day/tailgate party foods, just in time for Superbowl! Jessica Jarmer will be leading the way with some great inspiration for vegan versions of your favorite game day foods. RSVP is a must and can be done on Eventbrite.

The New Brunswick chapter of Anonymous for the Voiceless is hosting a Cube of Truth at the Rutgers College Ave campus on Thursday. Dress in all black, bring a fully charged laptop or tablet filled with the required footage (can be found in the description of both the event and in any AV Facebook group).

On Saturday, Karen's Healing Kitchen has a Food as Medicine event in Cherry Hill. It's a full day of plant based education with speakers, a prepared breakfast and lunch, door prizes, and more!

Sunday, Vegan in NJ is hosting a meetup at Cafe Metro in Denville! We host meetups at least once per month, including many other events. All are always listed at the bottom of every blog post. To keep updated, make sure you're in the Facebook group or following on Instagram (all events are posted in the events highlight).

VGN MKT has their pop up event on Sunday at the Market Hotel in Brooklyn. You can find the full vendor list on their Facebook event, but some of our picks from this event are the best cookies ever from Root Nine Baking Co, the sweet potato swirl cheesecake from How Delish, Seitan's Helper, and the bhel puri salad from Samosa Shack!

Every Sunday, the Jersey Shore chapter of Food Not Bombs will be feeding those in need at the Asbury Park Train Station between 3:00 and 4:00. If you want to donate something, contact them via their Facebook page or by emailing them at jerseyshorefoodnotbombs@yahoo.com. The Jersey City chapter meets at the Journal Square plaza at noon every Sunday. For donations, contact them via their Facebook page or at foodnotbombsjc@gmail.com.

Vegan in NJ events scheduled (must be a member of the Facebook group to view private events):

Thank you to those who came here via the Try Vegan email blast! If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you can learn more about the Try Vegan empire via their meal delivery (use that link for a free meal!), their food truck, or their clothing line! They also now have an app in the App Store or on Google Play!
