On Saturday, join PETA and local animal rights activists in urging Chrysler to pull its sponsorship of the cruel and deadly Iditarod dog race. A local protest will take place in Philadelphia at the corner of 13th and Arch Sts, downtown Philly (public sidewalk outside of convention center). Posters will be provided. Note that reserved parking will not be available, and please be prepared for the weather.

The Lunar New Year Celebration continues on Saturday in downtown Flushing where there will be a wonderful opportunity to engage with the Asian community. There will be literature specifically designed to appeal to the Chinese and Korean population (including stickers for the kids!) Wearing red is encouraged and please note that this is family-friendly event, so please do not wear or exhibit any clothing with profanity on it.

Caring Activists Against Fur (CAAF) will have an anti-fur protest this Saturday in NYC. The event starts at Bergdorf Goodman on 5th Ave. (btwn. 57th & 58th) and will march around the corner to the Fur Source at 2:00. The march will end early to allow protesters to join the Anti Trophy Hunting Protest against avid trophy hunter Donald Trump Jr., which is also taking place this weekend.

Join Samosa Shack for an afternoon of authentic Indian cooking! Together participants will cook an Indian inspired plant based meal using local, seasonal ingredients. Then they will sit to eat together, and talk about food, over food. Space is limited and registration is required.

There will be a Harness Racing Protest this Saturday in East Rutheford. More info can be found here.

In Philly on Sunday, there will be a Vegan Pizza Crawl on Bikes. 100% of ticket proceeds will go directly to Lancaster Farm Sanctuary, a nonprofit that rescues farmed animals and provides them with compassion and respect. Bicycle riders of all levels are welcome! Travel will be riding at a leisurely pace and following all traffic rules. Designated ride marshals will be watching out for everyone's safety. Helmets are strongly encouraged. Please bring locks, as organizers are not responsible for bike security at each location.

Vegan in NJ events scheduled (*must be a member of the Facebook group to view private events):

If you are hosting an event or know of an event happening that you do not see on our events page, please send an email to Cherise at cherise@veganinnj.com and I'll add it to the page ASAP and include it in our weekly breakdown.

We have a Patreon page and would love it if you could donate any amount you could. You will get access to our feed, where we will be working through ideas and events we plan to host in the future, early blog posts, discount codes for events, and random merch an whatever we've got that we can send you! This will be a great place for you to have your voice heard about how we can make NJ the most vegan friendly place it can be. Proceeds from our Patreon will be going to maintain the website, brand, and afford us to be able to hire on more awesome vegans to help us on our journey to make NJ a vegan wonderland! We also take some of the donations and donate it back to various vegan non-profits and NJ sanctuaries.

We have also added a 'support us' page, so if you want other ways (besides Patreon) to help us out, please check there. We appreciate anything you can do!
